Tension Fabric Displays — Common Questions
What is a tension fabric display?
A lightweight aluminum tube frame that assembles with push-fit connectors, over which a printed fabric graphic — sewn like a pillowcase — slides and zips shut at the back. The fabric pulls taut across the frame, producing a single seamless graphic surface with no panel joins.
Are tension fabric graphics washable?
Yes. Dye-sublimated fabric graphics can generally be machine washed cold and hung to dry, which is a meaningful practical advantage over rigid panels after a few shows on a dusty floor. Do not put them in a dryer, and check the specific care instructions for your graphic.
Do fabric displays wrinkle in transit?
Minor creasing from folding is normal and pulls out once the graphic is tensioned on the frame. Any remaining creases relax within a few hours of being mounted. This is the opposite of rigid panels, where a crease is permanent.
Why do fabric displays photograph better under show lighting?
The matte fabric surface diffuses light instead of reflecting it. Laminated rigid panels bounce overhead convention lighting straight back at the viewer, producing hot spots and glare in photos. If your booth is going to be photographed for marketing use, fabric is the safer choice.
